DescriptionKill Bill: Beatrix Kiddo (Black Mamba/The Bride) illustration by Ibrahim Moustafa.Another artist who wasn't on my radar until recently is Ibrahim Moustafa. Was happy to pick up this Kill Bill inspired piece of Beatrix Kiddo aka Black Mamba aka The Bride from Quentin Tarantino's modern classic films Kill Bill Pt. 1 & 2, played by the one and only Uma Thurman. Still some of my favorite films to this day. I've been enjoying the idea of exploring more of my favorite films (outside of Comic Book characters/properties and Star Wars) via artwork as of late, and it's a trend/theme I hope to continue in my future collecting. I dig the vibe and energy in this piece as well! Check out Ibrahim's work if you aren't familiar with him. It may not be sais, but a sword will do! Some very cool techniques at work here, particularly with the transition from light to dark. I love the way the assailants meld into the black.

Oh yeah!!! Love this piece of the Bride as she slays and attacks without fear! Powerful piece and stays true to the character from the movies. Great song choice too! Can't go wrong with any of the songs from the soundtrack.

Very Miller Daredevil inspired. In fact I thought it was a clan of Hand ninjas comng down from above at first glance. Cool piece!

Its been a long while since I saw the movie. However, listening to the music and seeing the artwork has definitely inspired to rewatch it again. Awesome artwork and totally love the song choice.

She was a Beatrix Kiddo on a hard day's night.
She was fightin' O Ishii, she was holdin' sword tight
I Bruce Lee her coming from a mile away.
There was no use talking, she kills bill today
When the Bride began with eighty eight.
And we danced like a wave of emotion, enhanced
We're thirsty for blood and we danced
Swept away by Quentin's Romance
And we danced and danced danced.
I met my Go-Go Yubari at end of the hall
She could dance all night and Blue the Leaves off the walls.
But when I saw her smile across a crowded room
Bill, I knew She'd have to leave the party soon
As 5,6,7,8's play out of tune.
And we danced like a wave of violence, romanced
Lady Snowblood and we danced
Swept away by Ibrahim by chance
And we danced and danced danced.

I love the Kill Bill movies and this makes me want to watch them again. Ibrahim has really done an outstanding job here and has successfully captured one of the more memorable fight scenes with the Crazy 88's. Congrats, this is a really cool piece!

Love it, man! I too thought about getting a Kill Bill commission. Really dig how she's framed here by all of the black of the Crazy 88. Just straight tearin' through them all! Congrats, Kavi!

I hear the Beatrix music in my head. Then comes the blood. I really like this work from Moustafa. Estaba remind me a lot of DWJ's work. Similar energy, layouts from the few I've seen, and style. Great score. Congrats!

It's as though she's cleared a space for herself by cutting through these jerks, just like in the movie.
