That's very bold to have Bruce Wayne's face all in shadow like that. It fits right with the story content for McDaniel to employ it here as it's like a partial Batman mask for Bruce.
This is one of my favorite storylines and I've it read numerous times over the years and I never realized that, great pick up!
I love McDaniel's work on character faces. And McDaniel shows how much of a master artist he is with his composition here, shifting left and right our focus from panel to panel. The inking on here is the best part of the page for me, though. Beautiful.
