DescriptionThe Sixties have arrived in Stan Drake-land, as we can tell by the lustrous coiffure and facial hair of Ernest AKA "Absalom." It seems that the strip's writer Elliot Caplin shared the curmudgeonly attitude of his brother Al Capp, judging my his characterization of the smarmy long-haired rocker. Stan Drake seems more interested in rendering the double-dealing Absalom than his unfortunate wife, whose portrayal is a bit perfunctory compared to Drake's usual glamorous female characters.Social/Sharing |

Stan Drake might be the finest artist in the history of comics when it comes to rendering subtle moods and expressions. Too cool!
