THE AMALI LEGEND Finished Study

About the size of a good frying-pan in circumference, and three claws instead o' five", said Alfred Aloyius "Trader Horn" Smith in his memiors titled 'Trader Horn' written by Ethelreda Lewis, and published in 1927. The creature is said to make great bellowing sounds, and attack canoes who wander too close. They live in hollowed out caves in the curves of the rivers. This finished study was prepared for the New York Zoological Society's magazine 'Animal Kingdom', for an issue with an article on legendary creatures which may live today.
