DescriptionDaredevil Issue 29 Page 5Writer: Mark Waid Penciler: Javier Rodriguez Inker: Alvaro Lopez Price $300 After the stellar runs of Kevin Smith, David Mack, Brian Bendis And Ed Brubaker Daredevil hit may its first dip in quality in over a decade with the Shadowland Arc which had Matt Murdock take over the Hand and become possessed, it was an interesting concept that never really came together. I do not hold the creative team responsible I genuinely believe they did their best under the direction they were given. It just never seemed to click. Marvel then brought in a new creative team and direction with Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera taking over with a new number one. Waid said he was tired of Matt Murdock being so miserable that Waid would need a strong drink after reading every issue. Along with Rivera and his other Artistic collaborators Marcos Martin, Chris Samnee, and Javier Rodriguez Waid returned Matt Murdock and Daredevil to his laughing swashbuckling roots and it was a wonderful breath of fresh air, one reason I felt it worked is that it never forgot the history that came before. Matt never forgot what happened before he was just doing what he always does and finding a way to persevere. This is the original art for Marvel Comics Daredevil by Javier Rodriguez and inked by Alvaro Lopez. The original is drawn in inks over printed bluelines on standard 11 1/2” X 17" comic art board. Javier Rodriguez pencils digitally so the inks are the only original for this page. Social/Sharing |
