Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
Probably my Dave Gibbons Golden Age Nite Owl Commission. Watchmen and the Under the Hood backmatter was so important to me and inspired to self-publish my own comic. Picking this up I got to have a wonderful conversation with Dave. I thanked him and gave him a copy of my comic. Truly one of my favorite comic memories, that I will always cherish.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am a lifetime comic reader and collector. From my first comics (DC Blue Ribbon Digest, Superman Vs. The Aliens and Batman #442) comics have been in my veins.
How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
Well I got my first published pages from Ron Frenz at Pittsburgh Comic Con while I was in high school. I thought they were so cool but it was not until I was 2017 (Thank you Felix Comic Art Podcast) that I would say I completely dove head first into the hobby.
How do you display/store your collection at home?
Itoya Portfolios. It drives my wife and best friend crazy that I do not display my art on the walls. I just feel safer with them in the portfolios.
What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
So Many. Unmasked heroes are a major theme of my collection Jim Aparo Batman Page with Batman Unmasked. Frank Miller commission of the Dark Knight Returns Batman Unmasked. Return of Barry Allen Greg Larocque Flash page. Ryan Stegman Venom commission (Venom Unmasked with beard, wings, and carrying the all black sword of Knull. Mark Bagley Ultimate Spider-Man page featuring Peter Parker Unmasked.
