Description

15.5" x 10.5" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Foolkiller #8 page 7 original art (Marvel, 1991). JJ Birch (Joe Brozowski) and Vincent Giarrano.

Kurt kills two protestors from either side of the war debate at a Gulf War protest. Spider-man, who makes an appearance in only Foolkiller #8 of the series, is swinging by and sees the commotion but is unaware of what caused it. The cloud word balloons are Spider-man talking while the rectangular are the simultaneous thoughts of Foolkiller, down below.

As much as Spider-man sells comics, I think his appearance in this issue is unnecessary and is a distraction in the least, to the whole development of the Foolkiller story. There are a few great pages featuring large panels of Spider-man and this is one of those.

But honestly, I'd much rather see images of the concentric flashes from the muzzle end of the purification gun doing its magic!

They probably wanted the sales bump. But Birch does make the most of it to ground Foolkiller, as even Spider-Man may be above that level of crime.
