‘Eagles Over The Western Front’ by Bill Lacey. From Look & Learn #570. 16th December 1972.

A definite grail for me, as this strip has been a huge favourite for years.

Bill Lacey & writer Mike Butterworth’s hugely enjoyable story covers the adventures of a young British flyer, WWI flyer, Harry Hawkes. Harry is part of the Royal Flying Corps (R.F.C).

Very much a companion piece to the later Charley’s War, published in Battle.

Lacey was truly a master illustrator.
