Description
This is the cover art to The Buyer's Guide For Comic Fandom #157 (November 19, 1976), which was the predecessor publication to Comics Buyers' Guide. As a longtime reader of CBG and a Hulk fan, I was happy to pickup this fun piece from the artist, Russ Maheras, who's been selling some of his art on eBay.

Maheras did lots of art for fanzines from the 70's to the 2000's as well as some professional work, and I really enjoy his retro style. I believe this cover was inspired by Fantastic Four #12, including the cave setting and the 3-toed version of the Hulk.

Since TBG was a large tabloid publication, this was actually printed full-size (approx. 11" x 14").

Fun piece! Not familiar with them but I can tell the era these were published just looking at them ... and the homage is evident and well done. Congrats! Thanks for sharing!

Very cool and important part of early fandom.  Every one that has surfaced holds a special charm and the work shows a lot of the influences of that time period when back issues were hard to find.
