Happy 56th Birthday, Dino! Congratulations on rewarding yourself with this excellent gift! I've always said it and I'll say it again, I believe Severin was a better artist than Trimpe and only sexism kept her from staying on the title (or ANY title) long enough to show it! An absolute classic!

Magnificent classic cover! The Mandarin displays a kind of tranquil authority that may not be that obvious when the Hulk is rushing your way! Also, thanks for highlighting the two published versions. While I'm not sure about the rationale of redoing the Mandarin, the John Romita remake is pretty impressive as well!

Great cover and very memorable from a "back issue box nostalgia" for me as I remember this one well. I had to leave this issue behind when I first found it at my LCS (and my allowance budget wasn't enough) ... those weeks waiting while I did more chores to save up seemed like forever. Luckily, it was still there and came home the next LCS visit. Congrats Dino - this fits so well in your well curated gallery.

Happy 56th birthday, Dino! You sure got a swell present! I love this stunning Silver Age cover by Marie Severin and Frank Giacoia! Personally, I really like the Mandaran's calm demeanor as the behemoth known as the Hulk throws a punch right at him! But I can see the editor's point of view that the Mandarin needed to be more engaged, more determined to blast the oncoming Hulk with his power rings. Still, I wish the editors had a little more faith in the instincts of the original artist. Thanks for sharing!
