Description
Here is a photo Tom took of the completed tribute to Wally Wood's CANNON. The original is too large for me to scan at 15 3/4" x 21 3/4". It is interesting to compare the preliminary drawing to the the completed drawing to see what changes Tom made from conception to execution.

Scans of portions of the strip are shown in the additional images.

Very nicely done. Was this just for fun, or some project?

I think Tom was doing this on his own while waiting for paying work.

I like the concept of Tom doing this. But this has more of a Frazetta vibe for me than a Wood vibe by way of a Cannon tribute. It's beautifully drawn and inked, but the characters don't look like Wood's characters.

I think Tom was doing this in his own style - which is Frazetta-based.  The Wood tribute has to do with the subject matter.

Not a bad way to display the skills to work in this striking manner!  Very lively line and organic flow of ink.

Lots to love in this homage!  A moody, sultry take on Cannon
