New Avengers Issue 50 Page 26 by David Lopez, Alvaro Lopez, and Brian Michael Bendis

I started a collecting goal years ago to acquire a page from each artist who contributed interior art to Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers series. Time went on, and I expanded the goal to include the artists who contributed interior art to Bendis' Avengers, as well as Bendis' Dark Avengers. I thought I knew every artist I was after, but the other day I was completely surprised-- browsing the Alvaro Lopez gallery at splashpage.com, I saw a single page labeled "New Avengers." I certainly didn't remember Alvaro Lopez drawing any New Avengers stories, but the page listed was from issue 50, depicting Clint Barton/Ronin gaining the upper hand on Shockwave, Mockingbird kicking the crap out of Crossfire, Bulldozer chasing Spider-Man, and Wolverine slicing up Thunderball. Did I mention I love Ronin and Mockingbird's costumes? Then I dug out issue 50, and I realized that I had completely forgotten the gigantic fight scene between the New Avengers and the Hood's gang, each page (or DPS) of which is drawn by a different incredible artist who had contributed to the New Avengers Saga and related spinoffs! David and Alvaro were the art duo on the New Avengers spinoff Hawkeye And Mockingbird. I am so elated to have stumbled across treasure that should have been on my radar for a decade. This hobby is so rewarding-- even more so if you do your research! Thanks, Mark!
