Dave Sim's scathing parody of mega-crossover events, with a clear swipe of the black costume created during Secret Wars - couldn't be happier to have nabbed this one (other than if I'd managed to nab both pages that were in the auction...)

Parody aside I love how Gerhard can create atmosphere and even tho the page is dark. it doesn't look unfitting. Congrats on getting a Great page.

Terrific page, Michael! This was one of the very first issues of Cerebus that I ever read, and my 15-year old brain was exploding out of my skull, seeing all this amazing stuff being done that it had never seen before. The gorgeous backgrounds, the incredible lettering (I laughed out loud then, and tried to figure out why the small "Bingo" over the enormous onomatopoeiac "PUNCH" was so hilarious), the word balloons, split up and used for dramatic pacing effect ("Conflict?" (pause) "Yer Massiveness?"), the dialects of the characters (to say nothing of the verisimilitude of a character talking through a clenched fist (to this day, I still occasionally say "Frafe Fonflif!", so intense was its impact on me))... Just an epic, epic add to your insanely awesome gallery. Mega-congrats, Michael! This is truly brilliant and hilarious comics.
