Description
This gag reads like a corny old riddle. As a comic it works well though, with the visual punchline better than it would be as a spoken joke.

Ving Fuller was a good cartoonist, and his Doc Syke strip ran from 1945-1960. Born in Russia, his family emigrated to Worcester MA, and moved to New York when he was in his teens. He was associated with such NY comic strip greats as George McManus, Chic Young, Rube Goldberg, Ham Fisher and Billy De Beck.

What first got my interest in Ving Fuller, though, was that he's the older brother of Sam Fuller, the great movie director, and one of my heroes (and Sam was a bit of a cartoonist himself, before going to Hollywood and making such classics as Pickup on South Street and Shock Corridor).

Fun Sunday gag that poses a riddle most people would not have guessed correctly.
