Striking page.
So Darkseid is capable of showing mercy when all is lost? Lots of beautiful images here, especially the top panel withthe looming darkness. But if I'm reading this correctly, Saturn Girl STILL hasn't connected Validus as being this new child that has suddenly appeared, right? Great set of pages, Miki, it's been a lot of fun!
Not exactly. In the previous pages Saturn Girl recognized Validus mental image, stops Garth (Lightning Lad) from attacking Validus and then rails against Darkseid for stealing her son.
Finally she collapses and begs for her son's life. This amuses Darkseid that his sworn enemy would beg for a favor and so he grants it.
