Description
At LONG Last!

What once was lost is now found.

When I first started contemplating a complete issue of Deadly Class I knew I wanted it to be Saya-centric.

Well...

I was joking with some friends that this cover shows the most damaged protagonist in comics at her most damaged. Cover B then shows her at her most confident, and at the peak of her powers.

The addition of spot color on this cover was a very pleasant surprise - I bought the art sight unseen so it wasn't revealed until I actually opened the parcel.

Thanks to Wes and the team at Cadence!

These pages are GORGEOUS, and I look forward to sharing them with you. Get that Requiem for a Dream soundtrack revved up and ready to go!

Oh man, so glad to hear that the pages were recovered! Would have been a huge loss. Gorgeous cover! I love what Wes has been doing with color on his commissions. Really cool to see it on a cover.

This was a tough issue to get through but a really significant one. A n awesome feather in your cap to have all the pages and cover. What a cool bonus to have that beautiful splash of color to highlight Saya drifitng off into her high. Congrats!

Man so glad to hear you finally got these - can only imagine how nerve-racking that must've been. This is one of my favorite covers from the series - Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a Saya
Sometimes I feel like my deadly friend
As a junkie I'm livin', the sin of addiction
Lonely as I am, together we cry
I drive on her streets, Save Your Generation
Use needles and pills 'cause she knows who I am
Remender's a good read for the Classes so Deadly
Well, I complete story, now post it online

I don't ever wanna feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Cover all the way
I don't ever wanna feel
Like I lost that page
Take me to the place I love
Take them, all Wes Craig
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Terrific imagery on this outstanding cover!  Love the use of B&W and a selected region of background color.  Nice contrast as well between looping puddles and ramrod straight elements, and that expression and the lurch of the whole scene really makes an impact

This is a great cover for an awesome book! The black and white contrast to the colorful trees is just great!

Love the contrast between the black area occupied with the distressed Saya and the gloriously colored pleasant section. Congrats.

There's your dichotomy right there.  Such an interesting visual.  Can't stop looking at.  Glad he chose to do the trees in color, instead of the bricks.  Although I'm sure it would have been just as interesting the other way.

Choices we make...

Thanks for the kind words!

Wow, that happy bit of color juxtaposed with that scene is a striking image. The small, colorless butterfly is a subtle metaphorical tie between those images, too, imo. Beauty is so close! And gorgeous art from a new artist for me. Damaged protagonist, indeed. Great choice. Congrats!

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the interiors too! Deadly Class was an unexpectedly fun read for me and lots of fun in trade. Reality Bites meets Riverdale meets Kill Bill.

I haven't been following this series (I know, I know), but many cool ideas and techniques are at play here!
