this is lovely. it would have been a really hard decision to choose between this and the overture 1 cover i also saw he had. no way to lose with mckean sandman though.

I'm in awe of this drawing! It's so beautiful and yet so ominous. The Sandman's bowed head, the gesturing hand, the mysterious cat, the decorative ruin, everything about this drawing feels symbolic and somewhat frightening. I love that it's drawn on brown paper which lets the white and black drawing pop even more. I'm gobsmacked, as they say.
