Adapting Thongor and the Wizard of Lemuria by Lin Carter.
The title Creatures on the Loose started off as Tower of Shadows, a horror anthology.
It became a fantasy/SF title for a while reprinting stories from Marvel's pre-superhero days.
From issue 16, it started adapting Gullivar Jones by Edwin L. Arnold.
And from issue 21, it started adapting Thongor by Lin Carter.
Thongor was patterned after Conan the Barbarian and was the first published in 'The Wizard of Lemuria' by Ace books in 1965. This was also Lin Carter's first published novel.
The novel was later revised and expanded as Thongor and the Wizard of Lemuria.
There were a total of six Thongor novels by Lin Carter.
The Thongor feature ran through issue 29, after which it was replaced by Man-Wolf.

In the previous issue, Thongor had stolen a flying machine to escape from the city of Thurdis. Unfortunately, he was attacked by a pterodactyl and knocked overboard where he now dangles unconscious.
