Green Lantern/Green Arrow O'Neil and Adams Tribute Prelim 01

Following the passing of the great Neal Adams, whom I ran into several times over the years at Fan Expo, I stumbled on a way of properly paying tribute to him. I managed to come up with a composition of those hard-travelling heroes, Green Lantern and Green Arrow. However, at the time the concept was of Hal and Oliver in their contemporary uniforms. After enlarging it I thought to myself "Why not do two of these? And have one be the guys in their classic pre-Flashpoint, pre-Parallax, pre-EVERYTHING suits? And harken back to the 1970's stories that To that end, what you see here is an 11 x 17" in progress of GL giving GA a hand - or glove - as they zoom in to combat some unknown opponent. As to the background, I'm currently mining my HC of Denny and Neal's original run on that series from the 70s for those key moments that build this bond. Further, I plan on lightly rendering the scenes in LePen .003 and in GL construct green. This is an ambitious project that I have every intention of developing to the extent of my abilities to honor not one, but two men who redefined comics in both writing and art. More as it develops.
