Original cover made by Santos for the Spanish edition of Karzan of Edifumetto, published on Karzan n. 28 by Portugal Press in 1977. Fun Bronze Age cover! I love King Kong themes and thought this was adorable. Look at the apes face. hahaha. Tempura on cardboard. Purchased from auction in Italy.

Apes were making a big come back after King Kong 1976. They are easily relatable to the audience as this mirrors our reaction of joy and mouthwatering delight at this sight.

My dad took me to see King Kong, ...way way too young. It was a double feature at one of the drive-ins. He thought I'd be asleep by the time the second movie rolled. Well, I didn't sleep a wink! Very impressionable movie for a very young girl. I dreamt of growing up just like Jessica Lange ever since. Ha!
