Description

A page from the Carnival issue which closed out the first arc of Gaiman and Buckingham's memorable run on Miracleman. The art for the page was actually done on two boards, with pencils and inks created on one sheet and the painted fireworks on a separate sheet. This image is photoshopped to incorporate the painted art into the inset. The individual pages can be seen under the additional images.

The original Eclipse Comics printing credits D'Israeli as the "Painter” for the issue. It turns out that the fireworks shown here differ from those published in that original Eclipse version, and instead match those from the more recent Marvel reprint. I believe that Mark repainted the fireworks for the new edition, which I prefer in this case.
