Stiletto ** Painting by Olivia De Berardinis ** Model Cindy Daguerre , 1993 (NSFW) Bizarre Cover

The final original 1993 "Stiletto" Gouache featuring model Cindy Daguerre. (Also the model for Olivia's famous "Piercing the Veil," same year. A nice vintage grail for real Olivia collectors during her prime.

Originally purchased at Robert Bane. Fully framed beautifully to a 31.5" x 43.5". Stiletto is about 20" x 30" in sight area. Olivia did one other much larger version in acrylic on Gatorboard in 1993 which is on page 73 of her book "Second Slice" which was 48" x 66" (Probably 40k+ at time, Piercing the Veil oil same year sold for 90k)

No other final versions are known. After discussing this piece with Cindy had NEVER seen any other. Comparing the acrylic to this final watercolor with Olivia, this has a softer quality in her face which gouache allows for. The quote from Olivia about the book version reads O: "Cindy's face has such a vicious childlike innocence. I love the hostility in this seemingly going pose. It's this anger in her sexuality that make me love to paint her." Olivia has told me that sometimes the watercolors or studies are just better, but when something works you do it again and the time period wanted OVERSIZE. Not so much today. My photos do not do this justice.
