DescriptionDreaded redlines are used here in this 1994 page by Mike Parobeck and Rick Burchett. The red lines guide where the color tones change to the colorist Rick Taylor just like how animation cels can have gray and then a deeper shade of gray to show definition and dimension. All done without black outlines. They are actually quite normal for this time period right before switching to complete computerization and a unique facet of the process back in the 90's. I always enjoyed Parobeck's art. Nice four panel page. But why does Batgirl have Solomon Grundy's testicles wrapped around her neck?

Dick and Barbara were the true Bat-Family couple.Parobeck could draw a lovely page. I love Mike's art. Another one lost too early. Thanks for sharing!

Four great panels, each with a different and distinct camera shot and camera angle. Very cool.

Wow I love this art duo on BA. The red lines used to bother me but when you know that's just the way they did it at the time it doesn't phase me. Enjoy!!!

Parobeck lines are very peculiar! he has his own language! Very great for an artist. A different kind of Batman from the one we are used to... le me say a lighter batman but definetely peculiar and nice. I like ot very much!

I don't mind the red lines at all and have a few pages with them and it doesn't bother me a bit. All I see here is a great page! Congrats, great addition. Thanks for sharing!

Parobeck left us much too soon. He was the best Batman artist of the 1990's and this lovely page shows why.
