Avengers #91 p16 Sal Buscema pencils and inks Kree / Skrull War Caveman Yellowjacket and Wasp

A devolved caveman Yellowjacket defends the Wasp from devolved cavemen scientists. As the scene shows, Yellowjacket wants to claim her as his own. Echoes of his first appearance, this shows Yellowjacket's dominance and possessiveness over the Wasp as well as the Wasp's submissiveness (since she could readily escape). Knowing the full history between these two makes this encounter all the more disturbing. Whether devolved, exposed to chemicals, or a mental breakdown, these plot mechanisms all seem to point to the same unhealthy dynamic.

Sal inking himself in his early years was absolutely fabulous, and I always loved how his punches resulted in bodies flying! AS a bonus, these cavemen are also very reminiscent of his depiction of the Hulk.
