Description
Saw this on Comiclink on auction and felt I had to have it. This is the issue where Peter Parker reveals himself to JJJ as Spider-man. Jonah has information that Spider-man needs but will only provide it if Spider-man agrees to a sit down interview over dinner. Spider-man comes to understand Jonah and Jonah, Spider-man as dinner progresses. Peter Parker then takes off the mask much to the astonishment of Jonah.

This scene depicts Jonah revealing that he was there when Spider-man first started to appear in the public eye. On the previous page, Spider-man tells Jonah that he does 'this' to save people after a great loss. Jonah instantly recalls the death of his wife, Marla and then recalls that he, "was there" when Spider-man first debuted on TV. The splash panel is a nice homage to the Ditko drawn Spider-man of the time.

Page is on the standard 11x17 bristol in pencil and ink both done by Michael Walsh.

I have been watching.  I hope that it continues to be successful enough for Mike and Anthony to keep it up.

Great take on a classic moment in Spider-Man history in wash that is reminscent of the Tim Sale books.  The creepy crawly nature of the Ditko Spidey with the eyes and underarm webbing came out of the monster tradition of pre hero Marvel that were the biggest selling books at the time.
