Description
Frank Godwin was a great illustrator even outside of the newspaper strip. His Rusty Riley strip is one of my favorites because he just draws everything so damn well - people, places, and horses. I've owned a bunch of RR's over the years, but this one is probably my favorite - even though it doesn't have Rusty or horses. I saw this in another collection years ago and really admired it. Then it found it's way to me - but I sold it! Then it came up for auction again, so I bought it back! Sometimes you get lucky.

You had it before, so you had the advantage of knowing more about how good this looks in person over anyone else.

Such a great daily!  Fantastic mugs on these characters and I love the progression of the panels as the camera pulls in closer with an abrupt about face at the end

Good eye!  I find that a good strip, or even a good comic book page has a mixture of long, medium, and close up shots.  It's just more visually appealing to have that variety - used to great effect here.  Thanks for the comment!
