So there I was in Vegas talking to Ryan. Talking about Costa Rica and all the fun I have there. After some begging and pleading he was kind enough to undertake this amazing effort! He crushed it in every way. From the updated Black Spidey costume, to Cap, Wolverine, Cyclops and the Thing with some chompers. The best part of this hobby is the friends you make and I can now count Ryan among them. He is just a great person in every way!!

Secret Wars was always one of my top 2 or 3 limited runs from my youth. I have always dreamed of owning the original of this cover but we all know that will be next to impossible without sending a child or five to college. Thus I went for the one of the next best things in my opinion and feel very fortunate to have this in my collection. Everything is hand drawn and inked down to the logo! Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to own a page from this run but until then this is more than enough!

The original was penciled by Mike Zeck and inked by John Beatty. You can see the changes that occurred before the final printing in David Mandel’s CAF Gallery. It truly is a special piece that will always be my grail!

Nothing beats the iconic Zeck original. But this is a fun interpretation for sure. Love that Thing, and Cyclops looks pretty badass as well. Really like the care he put into drawing the smaller figures like Captain Marvel and Storm.

The undetaking is very ambitious and the convincing him to undertake it may be just as incredible a story as the result we see.
