Description

The Silver Surfer and the big G are one of the best Lee/Kirby creations ever. Churchill’s level of scope, composition and detail is extraordinary and certainly captures the magnitude of that duo. Plus the bonus of having his home Taa II in the background. It would have been amazing to somehow watch/record as Churchill pencils the layout, apply the inks and the generous amount of Kirby Krackle.

Staggering amount of work by Churchill and draws from a lot of Kirby influence upon his own style in this piece. Powerful in scale and prodigious in putting as much detail as he can into this piece.

Ian has done a great job. It's a stunning piece! I prefer his inks on his pencils too (got 2 commission in the last two years). Saw this commission at his Facebook feed some month ago and Ian wrote: "First time I've ever drawn them and I'd happily never draw Galactus again! Great character - but that outfit...!"
