DescriptionThis wonderful Ungerer ink drawing features a man crying while listening to his Victrola, with a picture of a dog next to him. Simply signed "Tomi", the drawing is indicative of Ungerer's approach in the 1960s. This piece came out of Richard Hadlock's estate. Hadlock was a noted jazz musician, writer, editor, and publisher, who published The Record Changer magazine, which incorporated some excellent cartoons and illustrations. I don't know if this piece was published or simply given to Hadlock, but it's a nice association piece.Social/Sharing |
