Description

For years, Frank Springer drew editorial cartoons for the New York Daily News. At the bottom of the art, it's noted to be published on Saturday, June 16, 1973.

Many thanks to Jon GlassMan Gardner for showing me the link to newpapers.com where I was able to find the published art !!!

Springer's style changed over the years ( e.g. Secret Six vs Dazzler ). And comic fans are used to seeing a less cartoony style from him. And I think he usually had an inker or acted as the inker. Anyway, this is a refreshing change of pace.

Anyone willing to part with any Phoebe Zeit-Geist art ??

This ain't the Springer I know... I still like it!!! Very risque, yet very artistically accomplished cartooning to get the point across.

New York's Hometown Paper sure did know how to do cartoons back in the day. This is fabulous!
