DescriptionThis is a big one for me… a Neal Adams X-men page was something I was never sure I would be able to get. Neal Adams is one of my all time favorite artists and the person who’s art built a bridge for me to the books that came before me. When I was growing up I was lucky enough to read X-men while the great artists of the 80s and 90s where spinning there magic while also reading the Cockrum/Byrne era in Classic X-men at the time… so I got to experience the best of both worlds . When I wanted to go even further back.. I’ll be honest my impressionable mind couldn’t get into the Kirby’s and Roths of the beginning of the X-men run.. it was just so different that I did not appreciate it the way I now do. But when I finally got my hands on the Neal Adams issues… I was like wow!! I was Absolutley floored on what was going on, just the pure emotion Neal can put into comic art is flabbergasting. So getting this page is a dream come true.. it is not the flashiest page around but has some really important aspects I want in a Neal Adams page.. his design of the Havok costume was just genius and to me Neal’s greatest contribution to the X-men world - 50 plus years later the costume has not changed so getting him in costume is massive. Neal’s second biggest contribution in my opinion was creating the villian Sauron.. and guess what those last three panels on the page are??? Birth Page Time Jordan! Dr Karl Lykos in the flesh! Next issue we see him transform into the pterodactyl we know and love! And the scene above with the whole team rushing to help an injured Alex just pushes that emotion through that first drew me to his art! Sooo beyond happy with this one!Social/Sharing |

A legend on the run that helped make him one! Reprinted many times due to how influential Neal Adams has been to X-Men lore. Hands, faces, and their struggle are very expressive. It is what set Neal's work apart from everyone else when he detonated onto the scene.

Massive, massive congrats on getting a page from what I feel is the greatest run in Comics ever. Cyclops wearing Quicksilvers costume to confuse the Sentinels was sheer genius. Havoc's costume design...genius. The X-Men cover logo by Steranko....phenominal.

The storytelling in that bottom tier is so great... whaddya mean we have to wait 30 days to find out what happens??

Neal Adams will forever be the man who saved Batman to me, but his X-Men work is equally amazing. Congratulations Jason on a landmark addition to your fine collection! So happy for you about this one.

There's a reason why people still talk about Adams' run on the X-Men more than half a century later. Adams work on this title and the Avengers redefined storytelling for team books. Big congrats on landing a page from such an important period.

The drama served on a silver platter! Amazing Havok images. Unfortunatelly, Adams run on X-Men was too short (as on Avebgers). Big congrats on this superb adquisition!

Cyclops as Quicksilver, Beast as Toad and Marvel Girl as Scarlet Witch... How much more fun can it get? Oh, yes, I know: have Neal Adams depict the scene and you're in for a true masterpiece! And then, Havok... And then Karl Lykos (with a hapless crucified mutant...)! Talk about an embarrassment of riches...

Dude! Hard to top as an Adams OR X example! Killer storytelling, and when I think Neal Adams, Havok is in the top 3 of what charcters I think about. One of my favorite costume designs ever. Congrats!
