DescriptionThough I didn't read the WHOLE "Knull/King In Black" saga (so many crossovers!), I had a general idea of what was going on (Knull, God of Darkness and Creator of the Symbiotes comes to Earth to wreak havoc!!), and I wanted a nice piece of art associated with the story. And if that meant acquiring another Amazing Spider-Man cover that happened to be drawn by the EXTREMELY talented Paulo Siqueira, then all the better!!Marvel artists had a lot of fun coming out with variant covers featuring "Knullified versions" of different characters. (I included an additional pic of Knull from the Marvel King In Black promotional poster. My, what big teeth you have!). I just love all the artistic techniques Paulo uses in this cover image, and wow, Knull-Spidey looks so eerie and menacing! I love it! Social/Sharing |

That's crazy intense. Not sure the costume works for me (since I'm more of a traditional red & blue guy), but the inkwork on this is insane!

Very cool! Though he stabs himself in the head every time he shrugs his shoulders!

Excellent observation! Kind of like how Doctor Strange asks all of his villains to never attack him from the side. The price of sporting a high preppy turned-up collar ... no peripheral vision. I guess Knull-Spidey has to be really sure of himself when people aks him stuff, or else he will impale his head as you say.

I love Siqueira's work and it's so great that he inks himself on covers. The rendering of his own pencils is really fabulous, as exemplified here on this piece. Now, you MUST know I'd never be a fan of the idea of "Spidey-Knull", but I will admit that I like this look, if only because he looks like he's looking for a tryout as a linebacker for a 1980's era NFL team!

He was coming off the bench in Rutger Hauer's The Blood of Heroes.

Yes!!! Perfectly cast for that movie! I loved Rutger Hauer back in the 80's, and Joan Chen too. She was so beautiful!

The detail in this is pretty fantastic! Nice grab for sure! Tho how Spidey's jaw protrudes that far is beyon; probably has something to do with being Knullified haha

That's a great design like Road Warrior Animal with the horned shoulderpads instead of the spikes and the spider-man spiral forehead like how Animal had the spider on his facepaint. What a Russssh!

Never read any part of this crossover, but you can't take away how fantastic this cover is. Great piece!

That has to be scariest version of Spidey that I've seen. If the artist's intent was to freak me out, mission accomplished!

A true labor of love! So much killer detail in this, especially on those Knull-y shoulders! Siqueira is one of the best at mixing realistic rendering with a comic book look. Witness exhibit A. Congrats!
