Description
An enormous licensing fee for the rights to publish a Moonwalker comic was paid by Blackthorne Publishing, - which was the fifth largest U.S. comics publisher house that time, - thinking it would be an automatic hit. Sadly, they thought wrong, and the comic flopped — a significant financial hit that helped sink Blackthorne, only five years after its launching. At their peak, the company was the fifth-largest U.S. comics publisher, bringing in about $1 million in sales and boasting a staff of eight full-time editorial and production employees. They published about 240 different titles a year, with an average print run of about 10,000 copies each. The company was so frugal, they had artists draw different comics on the backs of finished art pages. This Moonwalker page includes a full page of art on the back from another unidentified Blackthorne comic. If you know what that comic is, please let me know. But you may want to shield your eyes as it's quite horrendous.

Historic pick up.  2nd only to the Chuck Norris cover here on CAF. I mean I might be wrong and it could be ahead of CN..but who wants to fight with CN?

I appreciate the behind the scenes history that you provided for this book.  I'm not familiar with the artist, but they did nice work here.
