Description
Been looking forward to this for quite a long time!! I was lucky enough to get one of the final spots on the first color commission list for James Harren. It was a tough choice between characters since Harren draws monsters, big badasses, galactic titans, and so many rough and tough characters so distinctly impressive, but my heart pulled me towards one of my go-to subjects. I took the leap to commission Abbey Chase and once James posted the final result I reached out to him to share my love for it, and found out that it was a book he had great affection for too! With great appreciation to Felix Comic Art for setting this up!
Commission 2020.

Fun times! Just a really cool interpretation of the character. Love the inks too!

The line quality and background element almost have a Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings rotoscope feel to them.

So great!  Her legs have a pose to form a martini glass!  The color is special in this to give her and the fallen head statue very nice volume.

Yeah! It's that changing gradient to the color as it darkens smoothly as it moves lower on the piece...it's so cool in that it is such a smooth consistent gradient like his screentone pieces, but with paint!

Definitely a leap of faith, but the end result speak for itself.
