DescriptionI was talking earlier this week with a friend about the great Hubert Rogers. Although he painted pulp covers for many different genres, and did fine work outside the pulps as well, he's probably best remembered these days for his tremendous covers for Astounding Science Fiction. I thought I'd post one of his covers that we picked up many years ago. This is the cover for the November 1941 issue of Astounding Science Fiction, illustrating "Second Stage Lensman" by the one and only E.E. "Doc" Smith. Clear ether!Social/Sharing |

Amazingly well preserved with the bright and optimistic future presented to give hope that mankind will reach that gleaming city one day.

Well. Just one of the most significant paintings in the history of SF illustration, is all.

This beggars the question, where did they put the title? Is this only part of the painting?
