DescriptionI have been a fan of Brian Level for some time, and have really loved his commissions. His horror influences and his visceral style just work hand in hand. When I commissioned this from Brian I just said "I want Spider-Man fighting the Lizard" and I knew that Brian was going to take care of the rest. To say that he exceeded my expectations is such an understatement. Brian took the horror and chaos of this to the next level! The amount of detail that he added into this piece is unreal. Brian captured all of the emotion of Spider-Man donning the black suit to go into the sewer to fight The Lizard. Working with Cam, Cora and the whole Inky Knuckles crew was great - and they even sent me the prelim image that showed the layout, and I was thrilled with the direction. This is my first black suit Spider-Man piece, but it for sure will not be my last. Social/Sharing |

Terrific, dark and terror filled. You can almost hear the water, the pipes clattering and the Lizard roaring for blood.

You have the energy and claustrophobic feel as Lizard is just pushing forth with nowhere for Spidey to go. When given a chance, Level hits the vibe just perfectly.

Impressive. It has a Kraven Last Hunt feel (if you'd switch Vermin for the Lizard).

Brian leveled up with this commission! I love the dark approach taken - so visually appealing. Was the black suit his choice or yours? Either way, it was the right call. Congrats on this gem - it looks amazing in your collection!

Thanks Dave - black suit was all Level's call - and man am I glad he choose that.

Such a great choice for Level! I'd love to see him do a Spidey book like this.

Absolutely frightening Lizard vs. Spider-Man! Brian Level is quite a talent. The level of detail Level includes in this piece is off the charts! Stunning commission, congrats!

I immedately thought of the cover to Spectacular Spider-Man 127 when I saw this :) Black costumed Spidey vs the Lizard! Love the overall grittiness, scene setting, and detail! Got a Hotz vibe, too, which is a good thing! Kindred spirits I think, art-wise, those 2 are. Congrats!
