Wow! Love this cover Kirk! Congrats!
Defenders covers are defintely gaining traction! And on this one, you can see why! They are spectacular!
Dynamite Defenders Cover!
Superb cover. Great composition and the two artists mesh so well here.
Early Defennders covers ...can't go wrong with those . And this particular storyline was so fantastic
Valkyrie on the outside and first Starhawk in the inside - sweet!
Wow! Business must've been good this year. You're really cleaning up on Heritage. Primo Bronze Age cover by Kane/Romita. The fact that's a Defenders cover is just icing on an already killer cake. Congrats buddy!
One of the best covers in the run. So much great detail work.
GORGEOUS! Romita inks over Kane looks GREAT and what a classic Defenders cover. Congrats, glad to see this land in your collection Kirk!
Wonderfully dynamic Gil Kane art! Kane set the tone for 70's Marvel and brought more broad action and tension to their covers over the competition. You can see Romita Sr. adding the inks that unified the Marvel line and maybe completely taking over the Valkyrie face on this cover.
Such a cool Kane & Romita Defenders cover, all of Kane's dynamics plus the beauty of Romita's brush, congrats!
Wow, major congrats Kirk, you deserve it. That really is a stunning cover. It brings to me back how excited I was to pick up that comic at the time, while on a seaside holiday. I can practically smell the sea. The combination of Kane and Romita is superb, as you say. It really is dynamic, and sums up everything Marvel was about in the '70s. Fabulous!
Thanks Paul- could not agree more! My mind goes to the smell of asphalt and the taste of a cherry slupee as I had to read the issue in the 7-11 parking lot because I couldn't wait to ride my bike home.
Gil and John Sr did SOOO many great Bronze age Covers
