DescriptionHere is a stunning drawing of the Sandman (Morpheus of the Dreaming) done in Graphite As we first were introduced to him, Imprisoned for 70 years. this beautifully penciled pin up (26x20) was done by Pepe Valencia from Kirby's Comic Art. when I was on the Kirby comic artwork page, they were promoting the release of the Sandman Series on Netflix and had all the represented artist pick a character to showcase. I am a big fan of Pepe's work and knew I wanted this piece immediately. the detail of the prison he is held in is amazing as is the figure of the lord of dreams is himself. it is almost claustrophobic the way he is positioned inside hunched over and grabbing his legs. If you have seen the series, it almost takes directly from it. Pepe Valencia hails from Malaga Spain and has worked for DC and various other companies, A big thank you to Annabel Kirby at Kirby's Comic who worked with me to be able to purchase this piece.Social/Sharing |

That the artist created the metallic and glass textures solely with graphite is incredible. A real Beauty!

pepe really does some wonderful work. I am still studying all the little shading and details he put into this piece. even the stress markings near the key hole are fantastic.
