Timon and Pumbaa - 1995 - Disney Studios Production Cel

In the mid 1990's, Disney was the king of animated full length feature films but they were falling behind in the television area. Batman the Animated Series had rattled Disney with his critical praise along with public reception and more importantly the merchandising that went along with it.

Disney decided to capitalize on its more recent and arguably greatest success at the time, "The Lion King." Disney decided to employ Timon and Pumbaa to star in their own adventures as part of the Disney Afternoon.

Here we have a completed production cel of Timon happily eating a plate full of grubs from an episode of the series.
