I still can't believe I own this page. "Must There Be a Superman" is considered one of the greatest Superman stories of all time. A philosophical look at the man of steel, questioning if his involvement with humanity actually hinders societal change.

The team responsible for it is a who's who of Superman creators. Swanderson considered the one of the best pencil and inker Superman duos, if not the best. It was also written by Elliot S Maggin and his very first Superman story of run which latest almost 15 years. All overseen by longtime Superman editor, Julie Schwartz. Also a little known fact the idea for the story was originally suggested by a friend of Maggin and future comic writer, Jeph Loeb.

A wonderful era Splash by the masters of their craft! Superman answeing to the Guardians? He could wipe them out. He should be asking "Must there be little blue guys?"

Totally classic DC comics of the time. Pick one of the biggest guns and have them accused of an unspecified crime against humanity on the cover and page one, then flashback to and rush forward to find out how the accusation is false and how they are exonerated!

Plus, it's a Swanderson!!
