Description

The demon Barbatos is undermined by a compatriot of Tim Hunter’s from Faerie, as Barbatos pitches a strategy for damning humanity with satanic junk food. (A bit redundant, that.) The Books of Magic # 19, page 12 (1995).

This page was the first of a two-page lot that I bid on in order to get the second page. I had no interest in this page – until I saw it in person. The blacks, the detail, and the shading on Barbatos in the first panel were a lot more impressive in person. There is a large amount of construction work that went into this page. The two lower panels are original art cutouts that have been imbedded into this page; based on the thickness there may be something underneath, but heck if I know what or why it’s down there. The page intrigues me!
