Description
Issue 5 was written by Robbie Thompson, with a trifecta of artists sharing page duty including Cris Bolson, Roberto Di Salvo, and Marco Failla. This particular page is one by Marco.

The issue features the story "The Past," in which Beilert Valance reflects on his history with the Empire and attempts to escape from Darth Vader. Here on the issue’s last page, Valance has travelled to a secret rebel outpost on Lowik to find a pair of rebels he’s previously encountered - Gita, who had escaped from Vader, and Aeliar, her superior officer. Aeliar is shocked at how Valance found their base, but Valance simply explains that the Rebel Alliance needs weapons, he needs to destroy the Hidden Hand, and a location on the holo-map he displays contains both.

Thanks to Fillipo Marzo, Marco’s rep, who literally flew halfway around the world in the process of getting this art safely to me in an incredibly smooth international transaction. Also, thanks to McSpidey who was my shared shipping buddy on this deal.

Beilert Valance looks like Cyborg Superman, so I'm all in. All I need now is a name. Any name other than "Beilert Valance".

In his first incarnation he was Valance the Hunter (as in bounty, not so much Kraven).

Valance has like 15 years on Hank Henshaw.

Well, I had to look it up for all who are curious.

First appearance as Hank Henshaw: The Adventures of Superman #465 (May 1990).
As Cyborg Superman: The Adventures of Superman #500 (June 1993).

First appearance of Valance: Star Wars #16 (October 1978).

Wow, really!? Never heard of him. I guess he was one of the characters created by the Marvel creative team. Either way, he's a cyborg so that's all good with me. But why, oh why, would they change his cool Valance the Hunter name to his current one? Sigh.....
