Description

Cover to Dream of the Bat which collects Mark of the Bat and Birth of Bat by Josh Simmons as well as Twilight of the Bat and Death of the Bat written by Josh Simmons with art by Patrick Keck, the latter published in this book for the first time. Many have said it by now, but it really is one of the great Bat(man) stories ever published and so amazing Simmons and Keck followed through and saw this project to the very end.

Deranged cover of the universe slicing the Bat's throat as he then bleeds out onto the Joke Man, who is taking a shower in it.

Fun to note, it appears that the Bat's tongue was put in later as there is white out over a teeth pattern under the tongue.

I reached out to Josh, I thought, fairly quickly after Birth of Bat was published wanting a page from the book but it had already been purchased as a full story, so I thought that was my last chance to get a Simmons Bat page. Luckily he did a few more drawing for the collection.

A really striking cover for one of the best "Bat" stories we're likely to get from this point forward. Was glad to see this epic finally finished and collected last year.
