Alberto, who is French with Portuguese parents, attended Beja's comics festival to present the translation of his masterpiece, Le Mort Vivant. The book is phenomenal and the originals are breathtaking. The amount of detail he poured into each single page can not be explained. If you have an opportunity to see the originals in person, just go. In alternative, try to get the black and white edition of the book, it's totally worth it.

He was one of the guests at the event with the longest lines and despite overrunning his signing time to attend all of his fans, he offered himself to continue signing after dinner. Seeing that he poured amazing detail into the sketches he was doing, I asked if he could do the drawing in my sketchbook instead of in the book. He explained that he doesn't do drawings in sheets of paper for quite some years since he saw people selling the drawings - sometimes even watercolors - online on the very day or next day after doing them. But since this wasn't France where it's quite a problem, he agreed to do it. As far as I know, I'm the only one who got a sketch from him in recent years that can be framed without tearing pages from a book.
