Description
22”x28” (frame 28”x34”) Painted in 1978, I bought it in 2007. A short story..... When Dorian delivered his Threshold Crossing painting to the house, he told us that this is Boris and Doris modeling, and also that he took the reference photo for the painting. He said he heard his dad calling him from the studio, and upon entering, saw his mom and dad in the pose in front of the camera and his dad shouting at him in broken English, “to just press the button!” It was very funny, the way he told it. Published in the book, Boris Book Two (Anaconda Press, 1978), the painting is one of the full color pages and said to have been commissioned and printed as a poster for Portal Publications. Took me years to find one of them to purchase. The painting also appeared in the book, Boris Vallejo Fantasy Art Techniques, published by Arco, 1985.

Amazingly dramatic, you expect it to be related to a book or story.

The color choices, the hands, and story being told has the emotions just spill out.  It holds a deeper meaning than just glistening bodies on canvas as we can see ourselves in this work when we find ourselves in a bad spot.

I love this top notch Boris.  I love the ones from the 70-80's best.  BTW-I almost 100% that it's Julie and Boris in the one I own.

Boris stood on the mountain as the fantasy king in the 70's and 80's...A childhood fave.
