I certainly understand why a large contingent of comic readers were put off by how Giffen had experimented with his non-mainstream style, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It was quite different from everything else being done at the time and that isn't a bad thing.
I just adore the 5yL Legion saga and Giffen's pencils were a big part of that.
