Heroescon 22' – I am searching for George Hage's table, and I find it, but George is not there. I believe he was at a signing with Alexis Ziritt, one that I completely missed!

At the booth to the left, a portfolio full of horror themed art catches my eye. I honestly lucked out, as Chris Anderson was set up there selling single issues of his horror book, Spectral. I spoke with Chris and he was incredibly kind. He told me that he was currently doing a Kickstarter for the collected version.

As I went through the portfolio I was immediately drawn to his art style. He had some work in there that he had done for Heavy Metal, and at that moment I knew the horror gods were smiling down upon me. I hopped on Kickstarter and backed the Spectral campaign at the commission level, and here it is!

For the subject, Chris and I came to agreeance on an old horror movie that we both liked. The end result is wonderful and a very proper tribute to the 80's zombie classic. Not only did he nail the logo, but he captured pretty much every zombie in the film. He did this using a number of different art techniques, and the piece comes together nicely as a whole. I could absolutely see this on a t-shirt or a VHS box at the old video store.

Nice to see some art with a little personality...every square inch of this is screaming! The range of textures and leering mugs in this outrageous image will stick with me for a long while. Great composition and handling of values in what could have been a grey wash

Chris is awesome! My wife and I chatted with him for almost a hour at Heroes and bought a He-Man page from him. Great pick-up!
