Description

16�x19� (frame 22�x25�) Done in 1963; purchased in 2016. Published on page 22 and 23 of the April 1963 issue of Man�s World Magazine. Robert Deis wrote me that this may be an unusual men's adventure "treasure" in that the magazine credits the illustration to "Lem Garber." However, he does not know of such artist and it does look like an Al Rossi painting, and the model is Eva Lynd � on of Rossi�s favorites. He speculated that art directors often hid the fact they were using the same illustrator for multiples in the same issue and there is another illustration by Rossi that's credited to him, so they came up with the pseudonym.

Nice and fancy way of illustrating sexually charged bondage for the male gaze. Really compelling situation of violence and sex appeal. A show stopper!

DOes it have any Balcourt markings on the back? that would add credence to the idea of a pseudonym- Balcourt often hid his artists identity from the publishers he sold the art to
