Carrie artwork by Don Lawrence

Don Lawrence artwork for the 'Carrie' strip which originally ran in Mayfair Magazine in the 1970s-80s. This piece has 'Carrie (Book)' written on the back suggesting that it was intended for publication in a book, however it is not clear if it was ever published. It has a slightly unfinished look - with small portions of colouring missing here and there (e.g. in Carrie's hat), which might suggest that it wasn't published - although it also seems possible that a production copy was made and titles, text and colour touch-ups were added at that point. Looks like it is painted in gouache but I could be wrong. There are some small spots (foxing?) on the top central and bottom left images.

My scanner makes the artwork look slightly fainter than it actually is.
