Description

From the story "The Survivor", published in the July, 1973 issue. This is my favourite period of Russ's work on Sgt. Rock. He was no longer trying to draw Joe Kubert's version of the character, but had developed his own.

Great storytelling throughout the page! The passage of time goes quickly in the top panels whie th bottom tier has wider gutter to stretch time in between each image. You can feel the struggle for survival.
